It's almost fall, which means the start of the holiday season will be here before we know it! What is your favorite fall/winter holiday and why?
Re: Its almost Fall!
I'm so happy it's almost fall it makes me want to cry happy tears. Fall is my favorite season. Football, cool weather, changing leaves, all the holidays.
My favorite holiday was always Halloween. It was just so fall to me with the pumpkins and it always kicks off the holidays. Last year I enjoyed Christmas more though. Maybe it's my getting older and enjoying all the family dinners more. I was just thinking earlier this week about breaking out my fall decorations this weekend. It's early I know, but I'm usually getting them out by the end of August anyways.
I also love Winter. Second favorite season because it has the rest of the holidays and because of the cold and snow. It usually stays pretty warm here the first few months of fall which I don't like, but I love when it starts to get cooler.
I love this too! I love just spending the day relaxing after cooking!
I love fall! I usually do a fall harvest type theme so I can decorate in October and keep everything up until November. Then the weekend after Thanksgiving I put up all the Christmas decorations.
This year is going to be so wierd though because we have no place to decorate for the fall!
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
Living in Florida I really don't get fall
. At least not the fall I grew up with in Pennsylvania with leaves changing colors and temps being in the low 60-70 range. Oh! And hoodie weather, like when it rains & gets cold, and wearing a hoodie is sooo comforting. Fall is my favorite season! DH doesn't get it since he was born and raised here in FL. He told me "we have fall" and I just said "no you don't!".
Anyway, I don't think I can pick a favorite fall/winter holiday. I LOVE them all. Even more so this year since I am hopefully going to be able to go to visit my family in PA during one of my breaks. I just wish airfare weren't so expensive.
It's not really a holiday but I love fall for two reasons this year:
. 1.) University of Michigan football season. I'm sure I've mentioned this before but I am a pretty hardcore and dedicated fan. I am so excited for this year. The team looks great! I also love going to my alumni high school football games. It's a huge deal in my hometown. The entire town shows up.
2.) I'll be 21 on September 15th. Okay yeah, I know in a previous post I said I was already 21, well I rounded = ). I know, such a little kid thing to do. But this year I'm going to a U of M game with T, my dad and stepmom on my birthday and we are tail-gating. I'm so excited.
Also, I'm hoping the weather cools down soon. It's been a record high summer and I've been miserable. I hate extreme heat.
